Structural Timber Association
As building offsite solutions in timber are gaining traction across the industry, the Structural Timber Association’s mission is to enhance quality and drive product innovation through technical guidance and research, underpinned by a members' quality standard assessment - STA Assure. This scheme offers reassurances to the construction community that its members meet or even exceed current legislation and regulatory requirements.
The STA Assure Membership and Quality Standards Scheme is recognised by seven of the industry's leading structural warranty and building control bodies - LABC Warranty, Premier Guarantee, Protek Warranty, Build-Zone, Self-Build Zone, ABC+ Warranty and CRL. By offering reassurances to the construction community that its members meet or even exceed current legislation and regulatory requirements – this assessment has been developed to benefit both members and construction clients.
Along with quality and safety, the STA's core objective is to be a leading provider of technical research and industry insight. Its Technical Committee work closely with the HSE, TRADA and BRE to ensure members have technical insight and industry intelligence to enable them to compete against other methods of construction.
The STA is experiencing exceptional growth in our membership, as more companies realise the power of being part of an association which provides the industry with an authoritative and united voice, which can influence legislation and regulation to support the overall objectives of the engineered and structural timber sector.
